The Dry Fork loop trip was in Jllly, using the 1240 in both directions between Roanoke and Bluefield and the 2174 west of Bluefield.  The October trip was to have been the last run of 611.  I rode this trip and rode the engine on the return trip from bluefield to roanoke.

Jim, 

There were two excursions out of Roanoke that I rode in 1959.  One was in July and the other in later October.

One went to Williamson and return. The other to Iaeger, then down to Cedar Bluff, then along the Clinch Valley line back to Bluefield and then return to a Roanoke. If someone can tell me which was in July and which in October, I’ll try to share a few recollections.
