Harry, I believe the Great Flood of 1985 occurred on Nov. 4. Steam era blueprints were also submerged under 4-5 feet of water in the physical laboratory. Thankfully my dad carefully saved them and dried each one outdoors. I have all of them. They remind me of the affection for N&W steam we shared. John Garner

Gordon:
If you remember, "the Attic" (4th floor that is) was redone so that
Abdul Bhutta's number dummies had an office. At that time, N&W
drawings were moved from the 4th floor to the basement. Then
came the storm in October '85 (?) that submerged the basement,
and water-soaked the drawings. They were thrown in the Dempsy
Dumpster out back. People saw me going through the dumpster
and thought I'd forgotten my lunch, but I was able to save a
handful of drawings that have been copied and are on file at
the Salem Avenue archives. Harry Bundy
