  Do you remember what the freight consist was that would require so much motive power? Was it mostly overhead traffic to be interchanged or mostly destined to N&W served customers?  
There was coal moving to county schools and for interchange with the D&S -- but don'tforget N&W's biggest Durham customer -- American Tobacco, i.e. Lucky Strikes.  Maybenot tonnage wise, but revenue-wise, a 40-foot box car of cigarettes  was a knock-out.  In season, there was leaf tobacco consigned to ATCO.           Harry Bundy
