Thank you. Yes. From things I’ve seen in the archives (VGN drawings) and other things online, I have a good idea what this should look like. My model won’t be 100% the same, as I’m planning to use an HO locomotive truck gear box as the driving mechanism, hooked up to a motor. Hopefully it will look reasonably close when done. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Phil

For what it's worth, there was a transfer table at Princeton (WV).

Here’s the other “business end” of this part of the layout. Lots of work to be done yet.

Ok. I figured that might be the case, but if I didn’t ask…
I have my own plan of how I’ll attack this project, based on the photos I have.
Thank you.

Hey Phil
Thus far, I’ve not seen anything on the transfer table at Shaffers Crossing. The chances of that being here, as of now, is sort of unlikely, as the structure is still in service and use at Shaffers Crossing. All that material was moved to Atlanta some time back, perhaps Doug Bess can offer an idea on it.
Best

Hello,
I’ve been working forever on a model of Shaffers Crossing with the current diesel service building complex as it appeared in the late 1980’s/early 1990’s when the NWHS coordinated a tour of it. I’m planning to build a working transfer table for it. I have photos from the area nearby and some from the internet that have helped a lot. Does the Society have any drawings of the bridge structure NW’s Roanoke Shops built for this in the early 80’s? I’m hoping to see more on dimensions and cross section framing appearance of what’s below the decking/rail level. While I can make this without it, it would be nice if I can build it so it’s similar in structure to the prototype.
Thanks,
Phil Miller
