My best guess would be that it's public unities that had to have enough 
height to clear the catenary. There remains a set of utility towers like 
that near Elliston/Lafayette on the Virginian. They are extra tall to 
clear the former catenary. Just an idea. Good spot BTW.

Perhaps, but it looks like it raised the electric wires to get over the 
yard.
Not sure if it was a railroad electric utility, or maybe just 
electricity coming into Iaeger.
You can just make out the many electric lines if you look closely.
