Trestle Near Saltville

This apparent postcard image was on Pinterest.

The blurred caption on this card reads (as best as I can read it):  
Trestle containing 1??,000 feet of lumber on S? G? Co's R. R. between 
Saltville and North Holston....

This is quite a trestle for a small railroad.  Apparently it connected 
with the N&W at Saltville, VA.  Was there ever a plan to extend it to 
connect to the N&W at some other point?
