Mike; be not afraid.  A few years ago on one of the C&O lists someone asked
for the correct pronunciation for the river that runs through Charleston
WV.  Four different guys wrote back and said, more or less, "I was born and
bred in that area and the correct pronunciation is...". Yep; four different
pronunciations.
