Redbirds shifting a freight car

Attached is an interesting capture by William Gordon found online. This is
a seemingly rare/unique photo opportunity. Particularly the conductor.

 Here is a photograph showing the Norfolk and Western EMD GP-9's #504 and
#509 with an Interstate hopper car at West Jefferson, North Carolina during
November of 1962. The two units had just arrived at West Jefferson with an
excursion train.
