eBay pic - Class E2a 555 and signal mast

Thanks it’s got an interesting  history it took some years to put it all together . I can tell you every owner of it since it was taken out of east

end shops . And I am like the sixth owner .

Glad you have the plate now. I had know it was real when I acquired it, but some in the society thought different.

Here is a drawing of the signals back grounds.  Photo is an Otto Perry  photo fairly sure it copyrighted and owned by the Denver Public Library . Incidentally  the number plate on the locomotive is in my collection . Stephen unfortunately you were told wrong . The 555 is an unusual plate in that its a three digit number on a big plate and shows up in all the photos really well. I also have the rectangle plate from the 555 when its headlight was centered .

Side note: I had taken the E2a Plate #555 to our convention and was told I was not real as it was not the standard size plate used on the E2a’s.

So note the large number plate!

Jim, here's an interesting signal mast (actually two of them) in Roanoke, I'm assuming pre-50's?

What's the single set of position lights without the circular background. why no circular background?
