My model of the 1702 (for which Grant has posted pictures) was kitbashed from a Rivarossi 12-1 body. I cut out the window panels and scratchbuilt all new windows. Underbody boxes were rearranged. Roof is from an Eastern Car Works Osgood Bradley coach, and the trucks are modified from the ECW OG kit.

So far as I know, no HO models of the PJ have ever been produced. I kitbashed one for Grant Carpenter a few years ago, as they ran on 23 and 24.

Have any HO scale models of the N&W PJ coach been produced? The Virginian Railway leased # 1702 & 1703 for a short time after the Virginian State Corporation rule that the VGN must make a sincere effort to increase ridership by offering improved equipment (from Aubrey Wiley's Virginian Railway Memories). Two photos of N&W Pj coaches built circa 1935 by Bethlehem Steel.
The broadside is of 1709 is in Hagerstown on train 13, late 1940’s. Phil Soring Collection.
The second photo is early 1950’s of train 4, The Pocahontas, in Petersburg, VA.
The Pj coach ran through Washington-Norfolk: RF&P 375 to Richmond, ACL 27 to Petersburg,
and N&W 4 to Norfolk. Ahead of the Pj is S1 10-6 sleeper, Pullman 10-section lounge car,
and D1 diner. At the time of the photo, the two Pullmans ran Chicago-Norfolk.
This photo is an eBay find.
