We had several "doll masts" on the Roanoke Dist. None had any kind of light. The doll mast itself only indicates how many tracks are between the signaled track and the signal post.Jimmy LisleSent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

Would these have been used to make the dolls visible at night?  Would they have shown red?  How about the one below the two-arm semaphore?  Would this have been used to indicate stop and stay at some point?  From the cab-side lettering, I would estimate the era to be late 1930s.Any and all comments appreciated,Jim Cochran
