Does anyone know what color caboose 518676 (c31p) was when it went into service? We are restoring it and everything points to red. Some people say blue but I can,t find any info to confirm that. I can find pictures from 1973 of it being red. If it started blue can you tell me the date it painted red.

In my 1973 N&W Motive Power and Equipment book C31 cabs were numbered
518500-518699 with the years built listed as 1968-69-73. At that time
there were 198 in service.  Since this cab is a C31P it would have been
painted Red with white NW lettering and numbering.  An NW C31P painting
blueprint would give you all the details. Do you have pictures of the cab
in its current condition?
