They do list the M3 as a choice that I can change it to, but it was
defaulted to a single blat horn.

VGN used Nathan M3 airhorns on all Fairbanks Morse diesel motive power.
 
I would have thought Rapido would have would have atleast stated that in the
accompanying paperwork or atleast on the prototype information page on their
website. 
 
I also thought they came pre-programmed with correct road specific noises..

I do not know but these locos are done really fine. I have 21 and will get a
few more. They are that good no one should miss out on them

Can anyone tell me what horn the Virginian H-16-44 locomotives used? I
picked up a couple of the Rapido models and I want to select the right horn
from the menu so it sounds right.
Also, did these use a brass or steel bell?
