Train Show....Clifton Forge, Virginia February 21 &
22 2009!

Sun Jan 18, 2009 7:42 pm (PST)

Announcing a New Train Show!
If the C&O could be so bold as to proclaim itself George Washington's
Railroad, then the C&O Historical Society will do the same with our
train show! We are, after all, holding it on his proper birthday. For the
first time ever, the Society is holding a train show. We are doing it in
Clifton Forge, and are planning for people and vendors from around the
region. The C&O Historical Society would like to extend YOU an
invitation to attend our "George Washington's Model Train Show and
Sale"!

The show will be held the weekend of February 21st and 22nd and will be
held in the Clifton Forge Armory located at 704 Commercial St, Clifton
Forge, Va. Admission is $3.00 per person.

Inside the Armory there will be display layouts in all scales and vendors
selling train stuff—new and used models, memorabilia, book s, china, etc.
The C&OHS will be selling surplus items at great prices and also put
some current items on Clerance and on Sale (just saving shipping alone is
worth the trip!). Vendor tables very reasonable, so anyone with anything
to sell or swap can come out. This is the time to clear out that closet!

While in town, we would encourage you to visit our brand new C&O
Railway Heritage Center (located in the historic C&O Freight House at
the corner of Main and D Streets in Clifton Forge, Va). The C&O
Railway Heritage Center will be open to display our Historic Rolling
stock and the O gauge exhibit which will be running the
new Turbine and Chessie streamliner. (Yes, the heavyweight diner, Gadsbys
Tavern, has returned to the Heritage Center.)

Bring the family, bring a car load of people, bring the model train club,
as there will be plenty to do. Other things in the area that may be of
interest:
* Plenty of shopping in downtown Clifton Forge (ranging from Antiques,
Arts and Crafts to an outdoor specialty store).
* Plenty of good dining choices on main street
* Douthat State Park is near by
* Lots of Railfan opportunities
...but do you really need another excuse to come to Clifton Forge? Didn't
think so... See ya there...

Dealers, sellers, and historical organizations welcome! $20.00 for the
first table $10.00 for each additional table. Call 1-800-453-2647 for
details and registration information. Call now before all the tables are
take n!
