<DIV align=left> The News reporter was reliably informed
yesterday that Charley Hester, one of the colored brakemen on No. 86, on the
Clinch Valley, was the target for some unknown party with a shot gun one night
during the week while the train was approaching the corporate limits in West
Graham. Hester was not hit by the shot but, it is said, had a very narrow
escape. There is no clue as to who fired the shot and as far as is known
no report was made of the matter to the railroad company.</DIV>
