<p class=MsoNormal>According to William Warden’s book, Norfolk &
Western Passenger Service 1946-1971, coaches numbered 1720-1734 were built by
Pullman in 1941, as Pm-class coaches, and were rebuilt by N&W for the Powhatan
Arrow in 1946. Coaches 501-540 were built by Pullman in 1949 and were
classes P1, P2 and P3. Additionally Pullman built 4 D1 class diners,
491-494, and the two P4 lounge-tavern-observation cars, 581-582.<o:p></o:p></p>
