<DIV align=left> Captain George W. Thomas, of Salem, was a
visitor to the city yesterday. Captain Thomas was the first conductor to
go through the Elkhorn tunnel and he helped to build the present Pocahontas
division, being a foreman in charge of workmen. He is here on a visit to
his daughter.</DIV>
