<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" ><tr><td valign="top" style="font: inherit;"><DIV>Nigel: I don't know what happened to my reply to you earlier this afternoon. Only part of the first paragraph came through. What I was going to say was that with the elimination of many of the coal branch locals the cars all became surplus and were scraped. Con-Cor is offering each of the three types of car, i.e. coach, combine and RPO, in two car sets for $118.00. The "N&W" lettering is correct for the time period since the "N and W" was not adopted until 1949. I believe the cars will sell well and plan to buy a set of each type. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> For those looking for heavyweigth brass N&W cars, Division Point has just received the N&W M1 RPO and will be shipping out to dealers later this week. If you don't like the paint scheme you can blame me. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> The next N&W passenger car release will come in November from MTH. The five-car Powhatan Arrow train set will be offered for about $300 and extra coaches and diners will also be available for about $60 each. The pictures of the Arrow cars on the MTH website look great and I am sure they will sell out fast. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> The N&WHS has made several requests of Walthers to offer the Pullman Standard smoth-side 10-6 sleeper in Pennsy tuscan and stripping to match the three N&W county series S2 sleepers that were purchased in 1949. These cars operated on interline pullman routes between N&W and Pennsy. The RF&P also purchased three cars in Pennsy dress except for road name on the letterboard and car name at the same time. The RF&P cars will be available for Walthers later this year. All I can say is that I must have been too aggresive with Walthers concerning the N&W cars as they keep postponing the N&W sleepers to some future run. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> All we N&W fans need now to complete our streamlined passenger cars are good models of PM coaches, as both coaches and lounges, and the S1 Budd built sleepers. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> While this fall is yielding some great N&W specific passenger cars, we need to keep pushing for the S2 sleepers from Walthers as well as look for a builder, or importer, for the Pm's and S2's. Your model committee is keeping an eye out for any interest by the manufacturing community.
