<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" ><tr><td valign="top" style="font: inherit;"><DIV>Jim: You are correct. I have a bad habit of getting the two sleeper classes confused. I believe that it comes from the fact that the S2 sleepers were delivered before the S1 sleepers. I also agree with you that there are laser kits for the PMs and brass sides for the S2 sleepers. I was not aware of brass sides for the S1's. I have two of the S1 brass cars imported by Sam Putney. These cars have a scale fault with the roof line not coming down far enough on the side which yields a letter-board much wider than it should be. Key imported some, what I call shell cars, PM coaches that were labeled Powhatan Arrow lounge cars. These shells make a great place to start building a good model of a PM but very few were available. SOHO also imported some PMs and P3s as converted to commuter service. The sides of these cars are
under scale and the car thus sits too low. To make a good model you also have to reconstruct the vestibule. While brass imports are now very detailed they are also very expensive and of limited availability. The plastic model market has now caught up to brass in detail and scale fidelity. Price has also increased but not on the same magnitude of brass. Our plan has been to push models that are widely available and at reasonable prices. Whether they are kits or RTR has not been a stumbling point. Nor has been offering the cars through the Society or just on general market. We want to see good N&W models available to our N&W modelers via whatever route possible. Harold</DIV>
