It will be on the same day. From the organizing committee "Swimmers itch is a parasite that appears as a skin rash. It is an allergic reaction to a small parasite that burrows into the skin. It is common in open bodies of water, especially during the summer months. It has become more prevalent in the Russian River in past years. The parasite, also known as cercarial dermatitis is excreted by snails in the water. With the low flow coming out of Lake Mendocino, there is a higher percentage of shallow water and a greater likilhood of these snails in the Russian River. We have had 1 reported case, and environmental health has posted signs in our Memorial Beach Park. We want happy swimmers, not itchy swimmers."
