US Masters Swimming Coach of the Year is Nancy Kirpatrick-Reno of Conejo Simi Aquatic Masters. The June Krauser Communications Award is presented annually to an individual whose communicative efforts have contributed to the growth, improvement, or success of U.S. Masters Swimming.. This year's recipient was Meg Smath of Kentucky, former rule book editor and US Masters Swimming secretary. The Coaches Committee voted to create a Masters coaching certification program in partnership with the American Swimming Coaches Association. The Fitness Committee was renamed the Fitness Education Committee, and announced that the 2010 Check-off Challenge would be hosted by the Colorado Swim Dogs. The Open Water and Long Distance Committee announced the bid winners for hosting championship events in 2011. Open water championships in different distances will be held in Noblesville, Ind., Ft. Myers, Fla., Coney Island, NY, Lake Placid, NY, Madison, Wis., and Central Oregon. Chicago and Indianapolis will be hosting Postal Champs for next year And lastly, the Championship Committee shared that they have selected Mesa, Ariz. to host Spring Nationals, and Auburn, Ala. to host Summer Nationals.
