CHAMPIONSHIPS ENTRY DUE TOMORROW</b></font></div>
<div>Pacific Master Long Course Championships will be at Santa Cruz,
July 7,8, and 9 at the University of California Santa Cruz. This will
be a great time to practice for the World Championships.</div>
<div>The postmark deadline for entering is 24 June, this Saturday.
Online entries must be submitted by 11:59 PM Wednesday 28 June, 2006
(That is tomorrow) .</div>

<div><font size="+1" color="#0000FF"><b>OPEN WATER
CHAMPIONSHIPS</b></font></div>
<div>The Pacific Masters Open Water Championships have been moved from
Lake Sonoma to a one mile course at the Russian River near Healdsburg.
The race will take place from Memorial Beach in Healdsburg on
Saturday, July 15th, 2006. You can register online</div>
<div>You can also register on the day of the meet.</div>

<div><font size="+1" color="#0000FF"><b>WORLDS</b></font></div>
<div>We are still working on totalling up the entries, so far
there are 7,200 entries from over 80 countries. Over 5400 athletes
will be competing in swimming and 900 swimmers will be competing in
open water event . Of the 5400 athletes in swimming, 1400 are from
Pacific Masters. Congratulations to everyone who entered the meet and
will be competing at the World Championships</div>

<div>The world championships will be the largest swim meet held in the
United States. It is also the largest Master's meet held in the United
States. Stanford is still the location of the largest meet as Stanford
will be superseding the 1987 USMS Short Course Championships
where 2328 swimmers competed.</div>

<div><b>OPENING CEREMONIES</b></div>
<div>The opening ceremonies will start at 7 PM on 3 August. This will
be the formal start of the XI FINA World Masters Championships. The
ceremonies will be at Stanford's Avery Aquatic Center and will last
about 90 minutes.</div>

<div><b>HOTELS</b></div>
<div>The LOC was able to secure a block of rooms for the duration of
the World Championships For those who will be traveling to World
championships there are still a wide variety of hotels available.
There are a couple of teams that will rent a hotel room as so that
their team members can rest there instead of at the pool venue.</div>

<div>The LOC was able to secure good pricing from many hotels in the
are San Mateo, Santa Clara and Palo Alto areas. We have to sell the
rooms soon, or we have to give the hotel rooms back to the hotels. Go

<div>Parking will be available at Stanford, but it will be about a 250
yard walk from the parking lot to the swim center. There is no
overnight parking .</div>

<div><font size="+1" color="#0000FF"><b>MASTERS INDUCTED INTO THE
SWIMMING HALL OF FAME</b></font></div>
<div>The International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame will be inducting
its new class in inductees. The new class includes swimmers Drury
Gallagher, Katherine Pelton, Walter Pfeiffer , Rita Simonton , William
Specht and Lavelle Stoinoff. Induction will take place on
Friday, the fourth of August at 6:00 in the evening for a Welcome
Reception and 7:00 for Dinner and the Induction Ceremony.</div>
