site. Results include the Donner Lake Open Water Swim, the
Manatee 2x1 Relay and the Whiskeytown One and Two Mile Open Water

STROKE CLINIC FOR FITNESS SWIMMERS</b></font></div>
<div>Where? Civic Pool, corner of 5th and B St. When? Freestyle
Saturday Sept. 30, Backstroke Sunday Oct. 1, Butterfly Sunday Oct. 8
and Breaststroke Sat. Oct. 21. All clinics from 1-2:30pm. Clinics
stress technique through specific stroke drills and include the turn
of that specific stroke. Coach Rick Powers and ass'ts will give you
individual attention to help improve your skills and efficiency in
each stroke. Cost? $10 pre-paid. $15 on the day. Contact Rick at

by the Walnut Creek Masters and the Tri Valley Masters in late April.
The meet will be held in Pleasanton.</div>

Creek Masters and be held in the diving pool at Heather Farms in

CHAMPIONSHIPS</b></font></div>
<div>The 2008 USMS Short Course Yards Championships will be held at
the University of Texas in Austin. The long course championships will
be held at Mount Hood, Oregon.</div>

<div><font size="+1" color="#0000FF"><b>OPEN WATER SWIM
CANCELLED</b></font></div>
<div>The Oktoberfest swim that was scheduled for September 23 has been
cancelled. This means that there are two fewer open water
points-eligible events on the schedule. Consequently, this decreases
by one the total number of swims that an individual can use to earn
open water points for the open water points competition.</div>

<div><font size="+1" color="#0000FF"><b>MICHAEL MOORE AWARDED<br>
RALEIGH AREA MASTERS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AWARD</b></font></div>
<div>At the recent United States Masters Swimming held at the Hyatt
Regency in Dearborn, MI, Michael Moore was awarded the Raleigh Area
Masters National Chapionships Award. The award is presented annually
to the person who has contributed the most to USMS National
Championship meets. This year the rules were stretched as there was no
USMS Long Course Championships, but the World Championships attracted
the largest number of USMS swimmers ever. Michael served as chairman
of the XI FINA World Masters Championships.</div>

DEDICATION</b></font></div>
<div>Susan Ehringer, the USMS Rule Book Coordinator, announced to the
House of Delegates at the USMS Convention that the dedication of the
2007 Rule Book will be to the Organizing Committee of the XI FINA
World Masters Championships. This was in recognition of the work
done</div>
