GROUP</b></font></div>
<div>Many of you know Judy Strauss, who swims for Menlo Masters. Last
year she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had a Mastectomy in May
and later reconstructive surgery. Shie is doing very well with no
detectable cancer. She was able to swim at Worlds this summer and
is now trying to get back into shape to swim at Nationals. She would
like to get a group of people together that are swimmers that have had
chest surgery or injuries so that we can share some insights of what
helps. If you would like to get together a group or just talk about
your experiences contact Judy at judystrauss at sbcglobal dot
net</div>

CHALLENGE</b></font></div>
<div>Polar Bear challenge of the Dolphin Club that ended March 21, the
first day of spring. Participants must swim 40 miles cumulatively in
the three months of winter in order to achieve the goal, with no
wetsuit nor swim aids. This year, there were two remarkable
accomplishments: 1) Ralph Wenzel swam 356 miles, tying the record of
George Kebbe from 2003. He opted not to surpass it out of
affection and respect for George. That was 4 miles a day for 90
days on average, and; 2 Pete Perez was first to reach 40 in only 4
days! He swam 1/2 mile at a time, 20 times a day, warming up in
between swims.</div>
