CHAMPIONSHIPS COMING TO PACIFIC</b></font></div>
<div>At the 2007 USMS Convention the House of Delegates chose Clovis

<div><br></div>
<div><font size="+1" color="#0000FF"><b>CHANGE IN CHAMPIONSHIPS
SCORING RULE FAILS</b></font></div>
<div>Pacific Masters sponsored legislation to change the team scoring
at national championships. Pacific wanted to break up the scoring into
regional clubs (that have members from many places of a geographical
area (state teams)) and club teams that have a single pool or common
ownership. Under convention rules the change required a 2/3 majority.
It failed by 4 votes.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Next year Pacific Plans to reintroduce the measure. Next year it
will only require a simple majority and Pacific is hopeful it will
easily pass.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div><font size="+1" color="#0000FF"><b>MAGERY MEYER
INJURED</b></font></div>
<div>Margery Meyer broke her pelvis a week ago. She was at
a triathlon in Santa Cruz watching Marguerite and just before the
start of the swim someone knocked her over. Fortunately her
husband, Bruce, an orthopedic surgeon was there and able to quickly
diagnose the problem. She broke her pelvis. Everyone wishes her a
speedy recovery.</div>
