Competition started on 22 December and will go through 29 February.
You can swim the Memorial Mile will swimming the One Hour Swim
(killing two birds with one stone).</div>

MEET</b></font></div>
<div>The Riconada Spring meet will be on Saturday 8 March 2008.
Besides the regular events Rinconada has the 1650 Butterfly at the end
of the meet. The 1650 Fly has limited number of slots open so register

Pleasanton, California. The Championships are being organized by
the Tri Valley Masters and the Walnut Creek Masters.</div>

in an atmosphere conducive to serious swim training. The dates are 7-9
March 2008.</div>

MEETING</b></font></div>

<div><font size="+1" color="#0000FF"><b>TCAM RAISING MONEY FOR CANCER
PATIENT SUPPORT</b></font></div>
<div>Tuolumne County Aquatics Masters (TCAM) is using the annual 1650
as a fund raiser much the same as other groups have raised
funds for walking around the track, or running a certain amount
of miles. Each</div>
<div>member collects pledges for the 1650 such as a dollar a lap
($66.00), $16.50, or any other random amount from family
friends, or coworkers. So far we have raised $10,715.50,
and we are not through yet. This fund is managed by the
hospital cancer patient social worker, the hospital
chaplain, and hospital director of development and public
relations. The funds are used for such things as help with rent
or house payment, utilities, transportation, housing at
distant sites for treatment, groceries, child care or any
other expenses that might keep a patient and/or their
family afloat during treatment. The fund is called
"Cancer Patient Support Fund", (SRMC stands for
Sonora Regional Medical Center which is the only hospital
in the county). </div>

<div>Donations are tax deductible which has made fundraising that
much easier. We just thought you all should know what is
going on up here in the foothills. I'll let you know what the
final tally is.</div>

NATIONALS</b></font></div>
<div>The 2008 USMS Short Course National Championships will be held
May 1-4 at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center at the
University of Texas at Austin. The complete set of meet information is

EVENT</b></font></div>
<div>For those swimmers who would like to swim the Breaststroke in the
Freestyle event, please be aware of the freestyle rule, that past 15
meters some part of the swimmers body must be above the water. Most
breaststrokes have an undulating motion where they will be submerged
during part of the cycle.</div>

<div>If you receive a DQ for this infraction, remember it is a
freestyle event and you must comply with the Freestyle rules.</div>

Avery Aquatic Center. To swim at the Nationals, one must qualify at a
State Games. The state games this year will be in Pasadena, CA. You
can also qualify at the Nevada State Games in Las Vegas (more
