<div>Congratulations to Jim Wheeler, a long time Pacific Masters
members who was awarded by the International Swimming Hall of Fame the
Paragon Award for Water Safety. This was presented at the
ISHOF/Paragon Awards Night at the Fort Lauderdale Hall of Fame
Pool Complex last Saturday. Congratulations Jim!!</div>

<div><b>PACIFIC MASTERS MEETING</b></div>
<div>The monthly Pacific Masters Swimming meeting will be held
Wednesday night May 14th at Heather Farms. All members are welcome to
attend<b>.</b> All clubs are encouraged to send a representative. A
light buffet starts at 7:00pm with the business meeting starting at
7:30.</div>

<div><b>SPRING LAKE OPEN WATER</b></div>
<div>The Spring Lake Mile will be at Spring Lake in Santa Rosa on May
17th. Note a mistake was made in last weeks Update about the location
of Spring Lake.</div>

<div><b>LAKE DEL VALLE OPEN WATER</b></div>
<div>The Lake del Valle 0.75 and 1.5 will be held at Lake Del Valle
(where else) on Sunday, June 1, 2008.</div>

<div><b>LAKE BERRYESSA OPEN WATER</b></div>
<div>The Lake Berryessa Open Water Swim two and One Mile Swims will be
on Saturday June 7.</div>

<div><b>MILLERTON LAKE OPEN WATER</b></div>
<div>A new open water event, the Millerton Lake Open Water Swim will
be on 15 June. Millerton Lake is just outside of Fresno and will be
the site of the 2009 One Mile Open Water National championship.</div>

<div><b>DICK BENNETT LONG COURSE MEET</b></div>
<div>Menlo Masters is organizing the Dick Bennett Long Course Meet to
be held at the Sacred Heart Long Course Pool in Atherton. The meet
will be on 14 June.</div>

<b>STROKE CLINICS - DAVIS</b><br>
Davis Aquatic Masters will hold it's Spring Stroke Clinics at the<br>
Civic pool, corner of 5th and B.St. in Davis from 1-2:45 pm on

<div> Sat. May 17 Butterfly,</div>
<div>Sun. May 18 Breaststroke. Clinics are oriented for the novice
masters<br>
swimmer and include video presentation, stroke explanations and in<br>
water drills. DAM coaching staff and swimmers will help
individuals<br>
in the water. Cost is $10, prepaid, for non-DAM swimmers, $15 at
the<br>

If you have not registered for Pacific Masters, you can register
on<br>
line. It is quick and easy and you can do it in the privacy of
your<br>
home. To compete you must be a current member of United States<br>
Masters Swimming, if you go to a meet to register and compete, you<br>
will just stand in line longer. By registering now you will get
the<br>
USMS Swimmer and all the benefits of being a member, besides<br>
belonging to a group that has great people.<br>

PACIFIC MASTERS 2008 SCHEDULE</b></div>
<div>The 2008 Pacific Masters Schedule has been posted on the web
site.<br>

Currently 35 events are planned for the next year. Included in the<br>
schedule are short course yards, long course meters, short course<br>
meters and open water.</div>
