<div>The US Olympic Swimming Trials are being held at Omaha, Nebraska
this week. They will be on the NBC and USA network.</div>

<div><font size="+1"><b>Lake Mendocino 2 Mile Pacific Masters
Championships</b></font></div>
<div>The Mendocino County Department of Health gave the Ukiah Valley
air quality a Health Hazard warning. This was an advisement to
stay indoors and only go outside when absolutely necessary and while
wearing a HEPA mask. Redwood Coast Masters has therefore
postponed the Lake Mendocino 2-mile Championship to be held on 6/28/08
until 26 July 2008.</div>

<div>The Lake Mendocino 2-mile championship will be held on July 26th,
2008, replacing the Russian River 1 mile swim scheduled for that date.
Registrants will automatically be moved to this date unless I am
otherwise notified.</div>

<div><font size="+1"><b>PACIFIC MASTERS LONG COURSE
CHAMPIONSHIPS</b></font></div>
<div>The Pacific Masters Long Course Swimming Championships will be
11-13 July 2008. This is meet always features great competition. It
will be at US Santa Cruz Swimming Complex at the East Field House,
Santa Cruz. You must pre-enter this meet.</div>

<div>For those who swim the distance events, the events will be swum
one to a lane, men and women will be swimming together. (this will
help the meet go faster).</div>

CHAMPIONSHIPS</b></font></div>
<div>The first deadline for the 2008 US Masters Swimming Long Course
Championships is tomorrow. You can save $10.00 by entering by
tomorrow. The championships will be held at Mt Hood, Oregon (near
Portland, Oregon)</div>

<div><font size="+1"><b>TRANS TAHOE SWIM</b></font></div>
<div>The 32nd Annual Trans Tahoe Relay crossing takes place July 19th,
2008, and is hosted by The Olympic Club. This event is the only swim
race that crosses two state lines and has become one of the most
popular relay open water swims in the nation.</div>

CHAMPIONSHIPS</b></font></div>
<div>The 2008 USMS Long Course National Championships will be held at
the Mt Hood Community College, Gresham , OR 14-17 August 2008 (Gresham
is near Portland). There is a discount on the surcharge if you enter
by 23 June:</div>

<div><b>LAKE NATOMA OPEN WATER CANCELLED</b></div>
<div>The Lake Natoma State Recreation Area revoked the event permit as
a result, the open water swim has been cancelled. Thanks to Casey
Newton and everyone who worked hard on the open water swim. Hopefully
we will be able to have a swim at this location next year.</div>

<div>Mo Chambers, the USMS Coaches Chair has resigned to spend more
time with her family. Chris Colburn will be taking over as
Coaches Committee chair.</div>

<div><font size="+1"><b>HEAD COACH NEEDED</b></font></div>
<div>Davis Aquatic Masters (Pacific Masters largest team) is looking
for a new head coach. Davis Aquatic Masters (DAM) is seeking a Head
Coach to promote team growth and development while leading a
competitive and fitness-oriented Masters swimming program.
This position is full-time, year-round,</div>
<div>overseeing 9 workouts/day, Mon-Fri, and 2 workouts on Saturday
morning. The Head Coach is expected to coach 60-75% of the workouts,
attend various swimming competitions and supervise a staff of 2-3
assistant coaches.</div>

<div>Compensation: Approx. $50,000 to $60,000 per year based on
a negotiated contract and commensurate with experience.
Fundraising incentives may be used to supplement basic
compensation package<br>
Benefits: Medical, IRA matching, office space and
equipment.</div>

Championships</b></font></div>
<div>The 5 K and 10 K Postal is swum between 15 May and 15
September. This is a great way to swim a national championships at a
