<div>As adopted by the Pacific Masters Committee the Mission of
Pacific Masters is:</div>

gain and maintain fitness through swimming and encourages programs to
foster this mission.</b></div>

<div><font size="+1"><b>PACIFIC MASTERS MONTHLY
MEETING</b></font></div>
<div>The September Monthly meeting will be held tomorrow at the
swimming classroom at the Clarke Swim Center, Heather Farms, Walnut
Creek. On the agenda will be the swim meet schedule for 2009, and the
rules and legislation that is being considered at the US Masters
Swimming convention next week. Items to be considered will be
team scoring at nationals and wet suits at open water meets.</div>

<div><b>FOLSOM LAKE OPEN WATER SWIM</b></div>
<div>The last open water meet, the Folsom Lake One and Two Mile Open
Water swim will be held at Folsom Lake on Saturday 27 September. You
can enter the meet the day of the meet.</div>

<div><b>34th Annua<font size="+1">l Sacramento
Pentathlon</font></b></div>
<div>The 34 Annual Sacramento Pentathlon will be held Sunday October 5
at the Schall Aquatic Center. The meet starts at noon and usually
lasts about 3 hours.</div>

<div><font size="+1"><b>CLOVIS SHORT COURSE YARDS
MEET.</b></font></div>
<div>The first Clovis Short Course Yards meet will be held at the
Clovis North Aquatic Center (the site of the 2009 USMS Short Course
Yards Championships). The meet will be held 8 November and is
organized by The Clovis Swim Club and the Fig Garden Masters. The meet
will start at 1 PM, which will give swimmers from the Bay Area time to
leave early in the morning and make it in time to compete.</div>

<div><font size="+1"><b>PACIFIC MASTERS SHORT COURSE METERS
CHAMPIONSHIPS</b></font></div>
<div>The 2008 Pacific Masters Short Course Meters Championships will
be held at the Clark Swim Center, Heather Farms, Walnut Creek. You
must pre-enter the meet. The meet entry deadline is 26 September. You
can also enter on line - the on-line deadline is 1 October 2008.</div>

<div><font size="+1"><b>5K and 10K Long Distance Postal National
Championships</b></font></div>
<div>The 5 K and 10 K Postal is swum between 15 May and 15
September. This is a great way to swim a national championships at a
local pool. You must swim the event in a 50 meter pool. Further

<div><font size="+1"><b>SENIOR GAMES</b></font></div>
<div>The Senior Games will be held at Stanford's Aquatic Center in
August of next year. To swim at the meet you must be 50 years old in
2009 and you must qualify. You can still qualify at the Nevada Senior
games. Swimming is October 4th and 5th in Las Vegas. The deadline for
submitting your application is September 22, 2008 and a Late Fee will
be imposed for applications postmarked after September 15th.</div>

If you have not registered for Pacific Masters, you can register

will just stand in line longer. By registering now you will get
