MEET</b></font></div>
<div>The Rinconada Masters Spring Short Course meet will be held
Saturday March 14th at the Rinconada Pool in Palo Also. the first
event is the 1000 free, which you must pre enter. The preentery
deadline is 4 March 2009. The class of the events is the 1650
butterfly - entry free for this one. - one heat only.</div>

BEHIND THE BLOCKS</b></font></div>
<div>US Masters Swimming has a new e-newsletter which has already gone
out. If you did not receive it - you may not be alone more than one
member of the US Masters Swimming Board of Directors did not receive
it either. Ashley has done a great job in production of the colorful
newsletter.</div>

<div><font size="+1"><b>GEORGE VIGUIE</b></font></div>
<div>George Vigue of Rolling Hills Mud Sharks passed away 22 February
while swimming at a pool in Petaluma. Apparently, he swam to the edge
of the pool, took off his goggles, and put his arms up on the deck to
rest. A swimmer noticed that he hadn't moved for awhile, and
when he checked out George, there was no pulse. George competed
in the 60-64 age group. George was known for his subtle sense of
humor.</div>

<div><font size="+1"><b>VICTORIA CHIDESTER</b></font></div>
<div>Victoria Chidester of Colorado Masters trained for last years
USMS Short Course Nationals. She was the "cover girl" for
the July/August 2008 USMS Swimmer. She had stage four colon cancer,
but had a unbeat,positive outlook that BIll Volckening wrote about in
a special web article. Victoria died on 3 March after a three year
battle with cancer. The article is on the USMS Swimmer website:</div>

<div>You can now renew your membership for 2009. You can register on
