1. JOB OPENING AT PRIDE CENTER OF NJ
Office & Volunteer Manager Wanted (Part-Time)
The Pride Center of New Jersey, the state’s only
community center serving the LGBTIQ population, is
seeking a part-time Office & Volunteer Manager. The
Office & Volunteer Manager will work closely with our
many volunteers to create a welcoming environment at
PCNJ and ensure the successful operation of our North
Brunswick office. The applicant should be
self-motivated and have the ability to recruit, train
and motivate volunteers, build strong relationships
with a diverse range of people, be able to clearly
articulate the mission of PCNJ, and inspire others to
become volunteers of PCNJ. Excellent interpersonal
communication and supervisory skills are required.
Must be proficient with computers, databases and MS
Office suite.  This position reports directly to the
Board of Directors.
This is an exempt part-time position of 20 hours per
week. Work hours are primarily in the evenings to
coincide with The Center’s normal hours of operation
(nightly, 7pm to 10pm). Salary is commensurate with

2. OOTB - April 15
OUT OF THE BOX: open-mic night at the Pride Center!
When: Friday, April 15th at 8:00 pm
where tax-payers, tax-dodgers, tax-lovers, and
tax-taxers of all backgrounds, persuasions, likes and
dislikes can come together in a peaceful, tarriff-less
space to share

and anything else they would like to do in front of
other folks!

free low-octane beverages and light gnosh served

how this open-mic works... folks show up around 7:45
pm or so and those who would like to, sign up on the
open-mic list to share their words, music, etc... at
8:00 pm we begin (or thereabouts) and folks who signed
up are called up to share.  around 9:00 the featured
artists for the evening take the stage for 20-30
minutes. there's usually a break somewhere in there
too for eating/drinking and cavorting. afterwards, we
continue with the open-mic list.  In the past few
months, the sign up list has been super full, so if
you want to make sure to get on the list, plesae
arrive by 8:00 pm.  Sometimes we do have to cut off
the sign-up list.  
 
3. CLUBFEST - Apr 23
Pride Center's Clubfest is Back!
Date: April 23, 2005, 8pm to midnight
Location: The Club at Woodbridge, 585 Main St.,
Woodbridge NJ
Cost: $20 person

4. THREE TALL WOMEN - April 21
Edward Albee's THREE TALL WOMEN, to be performed April
21 - May 8, 2005, by the Theater Project at Union
County College in Cranford, NJ.

5. FAMILIES SPEAK OUT - April 
The Central New Jersey chapter of the Gay, Lesbian and
Straight Education Network (GLSEN – CNJ) hosts a panel
of families who tell their stories about creating safe
and welcoming schools for their children.
When: Tuesday, April 26, 2005, 6:15 – 8:15 pm

6. NJPAC PRIDE NIGHT - June 2
New Jersey Performing Arts Center will be celebrating
our "GLBT/Gay Pride Night" on Thursday, June 2nd  @
7:30pm w/ the performance of the musical comedy, "42nd
Street". We are offering a 15% discount for this
performance. The discount can be used for a group or
on an individual basis. If you have any interest in

7. OLDIES DANCE - June 11
The Pride Center is sponsoring an Oldies Dance on
Saturday June 11 at the Knights of Columbus, 30
Crescent Avenue, Spottswood, NJ from 8 PM to midnight.
Featuring Sidewalk Seranade - 3 shows - continuous
music for four hours. Shake out your poodle skirt,
Polish your saddle shoes!  Prizes! Hoola-hoop contest,
limbo and more!  $45 per person.
 
8. NJ TOWN MEETING SCHEDULE
The 2005 schedule for NEW JERSEY:  A STATE THAT
DOESN'T HATE Garden State Equality's town meeting
series to support marriage equality

ON DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIP ANNIVERSARY DAY,
A RALLY FOR MARRIAGE EQUALITY WITH CONGRESSMAN BARNEY
FRANK   On July 10, 2004, legions of same-sex couples
converged on Maplewood to register as domestic
partners on the first day of the state’s new law.  Now
one year later in Maplewood, the greatest orator in
Congress, Barney Frank, leads a rip-roaring rally to
urge his native New Jersey to settle for nothing less
than marriage equality.  Featuring a salute to New
Jersey domestic partners and followed by a sweet
table.  This town meeting will have an American Sign
Language interpreter.
