4. NJ Gay Men's Chorus - June 3
Come to the NJ Gay Men's Chorus' 15th Anniversary
Concert, which is next Saturday, June 3, at 8 PM at
the Middlesex County College Performing Arts Center,
Edison, NJ.
The concert will feature music that the chorus has
performed in the past 15
years, as well as some pieces that are new to the
group. Styles range from
the classical (Debussy's "Invocation", Faure's
"Cantique de Jean Racine" and
Biebl's "Ave Maria"), to the gospel-influenced "Story
of My Angel" by Anne
LeBaron (who will attend and participate in the
concert through a Meet the
Composer grant), to a set of gay folk songs written by
Leo Schwartz for the
chorus: "Cowboys, Indians, Bears and Whips." The set
is rounded out by some
arrangements of movie songs such as "From a Distance"
and "Seize the Day"
and a set of songs from "Sing for the Cure" which we
recently performed in
Carnegie Hall.
"Upper Octave", a newly formed group of women who are
friends of the chorus,
will join us in celebrating our anniversary. We hope
that you will also!

5. NEW JERSEY GAY MEN’S CHORUS - June 3
The New Jersey Gay Men’s Chorus. Steven Russell,
Director, marks a milestone in their history with

beautifully renovated Performing Arts Center at
Middlesex County College, 2600 Woodbridge Ave.,

The concert will present a rich assortment of music
reflective of the musical history and versatility of
the chorus these many years, and features works to
