1. Lyle and Katie at The Garden!
Lyle Lovett and His Large Band and k.d. lang are
coming to Radio City Music Hall next week for a great
night of music!
Lyle Lovett is one of the most revered musicians of
his time with critically acclaimed albums. His success
has spanned nearly two decades. Over the course of his
career, he has won four Grammy Awards®, including Best
Country Album (1996's The Road to Ensenada), Best
Country Duo/Group with Vocal (1994's Blues For Dixie
with Asleep at the Wheel), Best Pop Vocal
Collaboration (1994 for Funny How Time Slips Away with
Al Green) and Best Country Male Vocal (1989 for Lyle
Lovett and His Large Band). Lovett is known for
combining a talent for incisive, witty lyrical detail
with an eclectic array of music, ranging from country
and folk to big-band swing and traditional pop.
Over the last 20 years, k.d. lang has won multiple
Grammy Awards®, recorded more than thirteen albums,
including collections of straight up county
(Shadowland), urbane adult pop (Ingenue, which
featured the hit Constant Craving) and sophisticated
torch (Drag). Her most recent album, Hymns of the 49th
Parallel, pays tribute to her native country Canada by
juxtaposing classics from iconic Canadian artists who
were her inspirations with equally brilliant material
from contemporary performers. Most recently, she has
also contributed to upcoming tribute records honoring
Ella Fitzgerald, Joni Mitchell and a KCRW Morning
Becomes Eclectic Covers Project collection. For this
summer tour, lang will be backed by her quartet.
Don't miss Lyle Lovett and His Large Band and k.d.
lang at Radio City Music Hall on June 21!
