PRESS RELEASE

New Jersey's 17th Annual LGBTI Pride Celebration sponsored by Bank of
America and presented by Jersey Pride will be held on Sunday, June 1st
in Asbury Park, NJ. The Pride Celebration takes place from noon to 7
PM, rain or shine. It features a parade, headline performers, great
food, arts and crafts, exhibits and community information, activities
for the entire family, and the best in local, regional and national
entertainment. All are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Martha Wash will headline this year's outstanding entertainment
lineup. Martha Wash is the powerhouse vocalist for C+C Music Factory's
classic "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)" and Black Box's
dance hits "Everybody Everybody", "I Don't Know Anybody Else" and
"Strike It Up". As part of the Weather Girls, Martha scored a Grammy
Nomination for the dance classic "It's Raining Men". In 2004, she
began her own record company, Purple Rose Records, and immediately saw
the first single, "You Lift Me Up" soar high into the top 5 on
Billboard Magazine's Club Play Chart. Martha's new smash single, "Keep
Your Body Working", hit the top of Billboard Magazine's Hot Dance Club
Play chart in December.

The pride parade, complete with floats, decorated vehicles,
motorcycles, and hundreds of marchers, will step off at Main Street
and Cookman Avenue at noon. The festival and entertainment grounds are
located at 5th and Kingsley Avenues. More than one hundred artisans,
crafters, merchants, and community organizations, as well as over a
dozen food establishments will have goods, services, and information
available. Among the many unique exhibits on the festival grounds is
NJ's largest outdoor display of the Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt.
The Atlantic Gay Rodeo Association will offer bull rides on the
festival grounds, and families will enjoy clowns, games, rides, and
Virago's children's show in the "Family Zone", sponsored by Prudential

4. PRIDE THEATER OF NJ
Pride Theatre of New Jersey Celebrates Pride Month with Premiere of The Little Dog Laughed
UNION, N.J. – The Little Dog Laughed, Douglas Carter Beane’s satirical comedy, will be presented at the Kean University Little Theatre located at 1000 Morris Avenue in Union, N.J., on June 6 and 7 and 12 to 15.
The Little Dog Laughed is clever and funny with quick-witted dialogue that appeals to both gay and straight audiences. The plot follows the life of Mitchell Green, a movie star who could become a big hit if his agent, Diane, can keep him in the closet. This social commentary is a lampoon of Hollywood antics and moviegoers’ tolerance. Company members include Hilary Goldman (Ellen) of Princeton , N.J. ; Penny Paul (Diane) of Montclair, N.J. ; Jovanny Rosario (Alex) of Fort Lee , N.J. ; and Craig Tiede (Mitchell) of Jersey City , N.J.
The Kean University Department of Theatre uses professional and community actors and designers for The Little Dog Laughed, but the project is student-produced. Liz Ramey of Union , N.J. , a senior theatre major, is executive producer. Phillip Sprayberry will serve as guest director. He directed Ten Percent Revue, Blithe Spirit and Manhattan ’s Village Light Opera’s production of The Merry Widow.
Show times for The Little Dog Laughed are June 6, 7, 12, 13, and 14, at 8 p.m., and June 15, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $7 standard, and $5 for senior citizens and students. The play is for mature audiences. Seating is general admission, and tickets are available at the door. For directions and more information, contact Liz Ramey at 732-310-3004 or at pridetheaternj at yahoo.com.\
