LGBT Movie Night 

Saturday, Feb 21st   7:00 PM – 9:00 PM 

This Month's Feature: The Boys in the Band 

At last on DVD! The Boys in the Band (1970) is a comic and serious look at the gay community in the time just before Stonewall. William Friedkin (who also directed Cruising) directs this film version of the Mart Crowley's play, widely considered one of the most groundbreaking films about gay men. A must-see for anyone interested in gay cinema.


2. LEADERSHIP TRAINING - Mar 2,9,16

Leadership Training                                                Monday's 7:30-9pm
Mar. 2, 9, 16 At PCNJ
$5 for each of 3 sessions, all 3 sessions required
Participants in this class will learn how to run a meeting according to Robert's Rules of Order.  Different leadership types and styles will be discussed including Authoritarian/Democratic/Laissez-faire/Ideologue/Pragmatist will all be discussed..  Additionally participants will learn how to write a press release, plan and run an event, and how to start a group.  This will be hand-on; participants will learn by doing and upon completion will have run an event or an activity, started a group, and or run a planning meeting and served on each other's team. This class is sponsored by the Men's Guild of the Pride Center and is open to all over 21.  

In addition to the three scheduled classes each participant will be planning and running an event, meeting and or an activity. In preparation there will be additional time planned by arrangement.   To register e mail njwarrior at aol.com

5. HIV TESTING AT PCNJ
The Pride Center of New Jersey, in conjunction with Robert Wood
Johnson, is pleased to announce that we will be offering HIV testing
services. Testing will be offered the second
Tuesday of every month between 7 and 9 PM at our location in Highland
Park. Testing is free and confidential, and results will be received
within 15-20 minutes. A free counseling session is also available for
anyone who tests positive. Both appointments and walk-ins are welcome.

6. MENS'S GAMES NIGHT
Games Night with Dessert

Is Now on Every 4th Saturday of the Month at Pride Center Next Games Night Saturday, Feb 28, 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM

We'll have a variety of games on hand, and feel free to bring your own.
A $6.00 donation includes drinks and desserts.

7. COORDINATOR NEEDED

NEW Women's Coffeehouse Coordinator(s) Needed for 2009/2010!!

Passing of the torch!

The Women's Coffee House needs more volunteers for the new committee which will be starting up next October.  Responsibilities would be to book the entertainment (lists of previous performers available) make coffee, buy milk and cookies for serving with the coffee, collect donations at the door, clean up at the end of the night.
