3. New
Hope Pride

   “It’s a
Family Affair” is the theme for New Hope's seventh annual pride parade starting
at noon Saturday, May 15, along Ferry Street, sponsored by New
Hope Celebrates.  The parade will be filled with music from bands, floats,
flag-twirlers, Mummers, colorful entertainers, families and many friends of the
lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and allied community.

The parade is the cornerstone of a weeklong celebration,
starting with the presentation of Key West Rainbow Flag at noon Monday, May 10,
at Starbucks at the corner of Main and Bridge; the FACT Bucks County Bingo
night starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 11 (details above); an
outdoor movie night Wednesday, May 12, at the Raven; a
sponsorship “pub crawl” on Thursday, May 13, hosted by
restaurants Tuscany by the Towpath and Havana; and an LGBT art show, “Male of
the Species,” also on Thursday, at the Nevermore Hotel.

On Friday, May 14, events will
include the drag show “Miss Pumpkin’s Pride" at the Raven; a cabaret lead
by local impresario Bob Egan at Bowman’s Tavern in Solebury; and a “Girls Night
Out” extravaganza at Triumph Brewing Company starring singer-songwriter
Christine Havrilla.

On Saturday, May 15, after the parade,
there will be a street fair on Mechanic Street from 1 -6 p.m., featuring local
talent including award winning singer Matt Casey, band leader John Danaher, and
recording artists Laura Cheadle and Christine Martucci.  Up the road at
the Nevermore Hotel a vendor fair will showcase LGBT-related products and
services.

Also on Saturday, there will be an annual softball
game, a free after-parade ice cream social at The Last Temptation, and in-store
promotions from New Hope’s many specialty stores.  Tasting Tours will
offer free mini-bus trips to area wineries.  Guided history and art
walking tours will be held from 7-9:30 p.m., starting at the historic New Hope
Arts building and winding through various participating art galleries.  A
replicated trolley car, the town’s primary public transportation  from yesteryear,
will circle the town and carry riders for free.

Later that evening, Bob Egan will host a variety show in New
Hope’s Union Square.  Then the official New Hope Celebrates Performance
Show and Dance will be held at the Nevermore Hotel beginning at 10:30 p.m.,
starring "America's Got Talent" finalists Glamazons and the specialty
dance troupe DC Cowboys.

Sunday, May 16, is the official NHC
Farewell dance at the Raven from 4-10 p.m featuring LOGO’s singer-songwriter
Josh Zuckerman and band, plus a “retro” dance party hosted by drag artist Miss
Victoria Lace with dance music by D.J. Joshua. Also on Sunday, Ladies 2000,
also a NHC sponsor, will present their monthly women's networking event at the
Nevermore Hotel from 3-9 p.m.
