[Roundtable] Christ is Risen!

When Jesus rose from the dead,
Rome still occupied Jerusalem
False leaders still ruled from the seat of Moses.
Wars continued, rapes and brutality still abounded
The faithful were abused and persecuted
And the just were driven from place to place by slander and hatred.
Those who cried out for God to answer were left holding out their hands,
empty.
The world was not set suddenly aright.
Nothing on this earth had changed:
Lies were told in the name of Truth
Religious leaders still put people into bondage
Instead of setting them free with mercy and love.
Death continued,
Yet He Rose.
Over all the disappointments and grief
Over all the oppression
Over all the ravages and damage of injustice and abuse
Over all the inequality, mistreatments and unfairness
Jesus Rose over all from the grave.

A fresh fragrance of hope had been spread upon the earth.
It was not a remedy for every ill to be healed on earth in a moment.
Yet it was a promise of a victory that would be achieved.
A victory, in time, that would eventually put every injustice to death
And right every wrong.
It is a hope greater than the grave.
An enduring hope, that whatever may come, Christ is greater.
And the injustices of this present age do not have the last say.

The Lord be with you!
For Christ is Risen. Christ is Risen indeed!

"Many folks want to serve God, but only as advisers."

Such is God's economy: "One man gives freely, yet grows all the richer;
another withholds what he should give, and only suffers lack." - Proverbs
11:24
