new Black Fender Stratocaster to replace Chris Dreja's damaged Gibson. All
equipment was owned by the band collectively & Eric and Chris used to swap
instruments. The Stratocaster was passed on to Jeff Beck when he joined the
band but it is not known where the Red telecaster ended up following Eric's
departure. By this time Eric was had started to build his own collection of
guitars.
This is a short album with some lively contributions from Eric . The final
track starts without Eric who joins in later have repaired his guitar
string!. The stories of breaking strings regularly are confirmed here
However Keith Relf just manages to squeeze out Eric's attempt at a full
-blown blues solo.
The recording quality is very good for the period better than the previous
releases. It was made only a few days before Keith Relf collapsed with his
lung problem. He missed the visit to Switzerland with the rest of the band
being replaced by Mick O'Neil of The Authentics for this trip. The immediate
replacement singer was Tony Carter from The Grebbles - another Gomelski
stable band. They also featured Roger Pearce who had deputised for Eric
during his previous break from The Yardbirds in December 1963.
