First, thanks for the nod in your post.

Now, in response to your post about what modern music EC listens to...

In all seriousness, I read in an interview that he likes the Chemical Brothers.  
In fact, the song "She's Gone" was inspired by the song "Block Rockin' Beats" by the Chemical Brothers.  Listen to them back to back, the connection is glaring.
