[Slowhand] Labelling of EC discs

I have been reading a lot of complaints about the CDR quality an so on and a few on the label issue. This leads me to ask:

Have anybody had any experience with the "write-direct-on-the-CD" "labeling-printers"?

They seem to come very inexpensive, and the special CDRs aren't much more expensive than the usual ones.
