cleveland 9/3:

robert cray opened but i didnt get there in time for his set. buddy looked
resplendant in maroon silk pajamas with a white floppy bucket hat. had some
problems with his white strat, so played the black strat most of the nite.
he was in fine form with a tight band (second guitarist had a ridiculously
good 5 minute solo during hoochie coochie man). buddy played about 3 searing
solos this nite. did his usual guitar-hero history class, and left the stage
as usual to play in middle of the crowd (great to see hundreds of people
follow him around like lemmings throughout the arena). however he stopped
short of playing in the bathroom, and instead just stopped atop the deck
outside the bathroom doors. how he can solo like that for 10 minutes all
around the venue is pretty cool.

his voice was in great shape, he was very animated as usual, and hardly
uttered a swear word. only had a couple nips of drink, and was overwhelmed
with the response cleveland gave him. he played for almost an hour and 20
minutes. he signed items along the front of the stage at the end of the
show, including his head on a stick (got a nice gold-toothed grin from him
on that one!).

dont miss him!
