Finally watched Tom Dowd & the Language of Music last night. Absolutely wonderful film. Many great moments from the greatest and most inovative sound engineer ever. Dowd narrates it himself and shows why so many great musicians loved him - even if you knew nothing of the man, you would come away from watching the film liking him and respecting his work. One of my favorite parts is Dowd sitting at a mixer, 30 years after Layla, playing with the mix. Fading everything out except EC and Duanne, and saying, "Those notes aren't on a guitar. It's in their touch."
