Hi
To answer John Mills question
"Why is Japanese vinyl better than
that from elsewhere?"
Because :
a) they do their own mastering (to cope with the japanese ear).
b) they are more careful in the master/father/mother/stamper
process
c) a stamper willbe used to produce less copies.
d) they use better vinyl (virgin vinyl - as for the famous
beatles "red" collection)
e) but their record are more expensive...
This is why Mobile Fidelity used the japanese plants to
produce their records (and some of their gold CDs also).
