There is a nice interview with Derek Trucks in the latest issue of Blues
Revue. In the interview Derek says he got the job of playing with EC through
being recommended by Doyle Bramhall. It was in looking for a slide man for
the summer tour. I will quote this, "You've been rehearsing for a week,
what's that been like?". "It's exciting. There aren't many better rhythm
sections on planet earth than Willie Weeks and Steve Jordon. It's fun
playing with those guys and having Eric do his thing over top of it. Every
once in a while he'll lay into a solo and you go Oh yeah, that's why he is
who he is".
