I don't know if his playing is "better" than Clapton's right now, but Chris Cain will certainly hold his own -- on both guitar and vocals -- with any other blues player. He's about the best -- if not THE best -- "new" guy I've heard in the past several years.

If you want to try him out, I highly recommed his album "Cain Does King," a tribute to BB King (2001).
