Steve Morse IS the guitarist for Deep Purple and has been for over 10 years.
Obviously you've never heard The Dixie Dregs and never heard the man play guitar - absolutely amazing! He got voted Guitar Player Magazine's "Best Guitarist" so many times in a row that Guitar Player "disqualified" him to give others a chance. Steve is 51 years old and cites Eric Clapton and John McLaughlin among his major influences.
