Just got back from the annual 'No Stiletto Shoes Band' get together at the 
Ex-Service Mans and Working Mans Club in Chiddingfold in deepest, darkest 
Surrey. This is Gary Brooker and his Bands'  regular local gig and normally 
comprises of Gary on keys and vocals, Andy F-Low on guitar and vocals, Henry 
Spinetti on drums, Dave Bronze on bass and Frank Mead on sax. They play 
there every Xmas with various guests. EC turned up in 89 (the famous dancing 
flower gig), 2004 and 2005. He turned up again last night and played a 
diverse and somewhat tired 25 mins with the band (not surprising after the 
amazing recent tour).
He started with a slow version of 'Roll with It' ('Let me be your man till 
your big man come'),tasteful versions of 'Driftin' and Driftin' and 
'Reconsider Baby' with EC on vocals, and finally 'Stand By Me' with him 
singing the second verse.
A great time was had by all.
Talking of Andy F-L, if you look up BBC Radio 2 and go to the archive/play 
again section and play last Thursdays  R&B Show with Paul Jones, you'll hear 
Andy play 3 live tracks from his forthcoming album (which he was signing and 
selling copies of last night). And, surprisingly, they're quite good.
Finally, I took a few pictures of Chiddingfold and will attempt to put 1 or 
2 up shortly.
