[Slowhand] Question on Going Down Slow...

One of the EC songs I play the most is the version of Going Down Slow
from the Armani show.  It has the slow, blues arrangement and EC hits
notes in his solo that knocks me back in my seat every time I hear it.

I've always wondered why he changed the arrangment around so
drastically for the Legends shows and Pilgrim album / tour.
