Hi all, I have always been a 'lurker' and not a contributor, so forgive me Delta Nick, AG, and all. I will try to give you my take on Clapton's Concert last Thursday night at his sold out concert.
As soon as Clapton and bandmates crossed the stage, the crowd went wild! There was no talk from Clapton, the band just started playing as E.C. turned to them and then back again.
To Tell The Truth
Key to the Highway
Got to get Better in a Little While
First 4 chairs were set up in the front of the stage. Then Bramhill, Trucks, and Clapton started to sit when out walked J.J.Cale--the crown exploded!
Driftin & Driftin
Outside Woman Blues
Nobody knows When You're Down and Out
Running on Faith
J.J.Cale then left the stage and chairs were gone--the crowd went wild again--also after each
Little Queen of Spades (15 min)
Further on up the Road
Cocaine (the crowd stood for the whole song
Crossroads (with Robert Cray)
All in all, it was a fabulous concert with each musician driving the others to even greater heights. My friend and I left with a high that is still lasting!
Even after the last encore the crowd cheered and whistled for another 5 minutes! They/we really wanted more.
