I listened to Sgt. Peppers again tonight.
 
What a tremendous force the Beatles were...Just makes me shake my  
head...they were Perfection...
After all these years, they still sound fresh and new...and unique...
 
I don't think there's ever been anything like them, nor will there ever be  
anything like them again.
 
The Beatles got me started on my journey, they were my guru's. Although  I've 
grown in new directions, and I listen to so much more stuff now, they are  
still the touchstone of everything I've ever learned musically.
 
My Father dismissed them as noise at first...long haired yea yea yea music.  
But even he, a career Marine, came around to their genius before he died.
 
And I'll never forget turning my niece, who at the time thought the Back  
Street Boys, or whatever they were, were better than the Beatles, onto them one  
night, playing cuts from Pepper, and Rubber Soul, Revolver, Abbey Road, and 
the  White Album...turning her onto revolution #9 (a precursor of rap?)...and 
I'll  always remember the look on her face as she got it...and said...Those guys 
are a  LOT BETTER than the backstreet boys...
